A guide to creating Disbursement Types to be used in Business Centers, Business Central and firm finances

A Disbursement Type is a title given to a Disbursement that comes from one of your existing Accounts. When creating a Disbursement, you'll need to designate what Type of Disbursement it is. Some common Disbursement Types are shown below, but for creating a new Disbursement Type, continue reading!

On the left side of the screen, look for the Administration Subheading, and find the Disbursement Types Entity. If you don’t see this option, you may not be an Admin, so check with your Firm Administrators for clearance to access this Entity.

At the top of the screen, click +New.

In this window, type the name of the Disbursement Type and choose the Account to which you’d like to apply it. If you don’t see the Account in the list, you may need to create the preferred Account. Click here for a Guide on Creating Accounts.

Finally, choose the Disbursement Designation from the list of options.

You’re done! If you need to create more Disbursement Types, click Save and then +New, but if you’re finished, click Save & Close instead.
